Ramón Amezcua


   

 

 

Ramón Amezcua  a.k.a Bostich is an important figure in electronic music internationally. He has written songs for The Nortec Collective. He has earnes several Grammy nomminations, the most recent in 2011 for Bulevar 2000 by Nortec Collective Presents Bostich + Fussible under the category of Best Latin Rock / Alternative Album.

Amezcua is considered the Godfather of Nortec by producers and fans, since Bostich’s early Nortec music he established the characteristics of his style;  his song “Polaris“ marks the genesis of the Nortec genre.

Since 1999, Amezcua has performed with Pepe Mogt, together known as “Bostich+Fussible,” and presenting themselves in concert as Nortec Collective presents: Bostich+Fussible. In 2011, the duo were honored performers at the opening ceremony of the Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, and performed in other important venues and festivals like Royal Albert Hall London, Womad Australia, Womad New Zealand, Mutek Montreal, Coachella (2001 and 2016), Sonar Barcelona, Royal Festival Hall London, Bellas Artes Mexico City, Glastonbury Festival UK and Lincoln Center NY. As Bostich, he has collaborated with film directors (Les Bernstein, Hans Fjellestad, Emilio Maillé, Alex Rivera), composers (Pauline Oliveros, Kronos Quartet, Alan Parsons, Wolfgang Flür from Kraftwerk, and Cirque du Soleil (“Luzia”).
